Step 5 DONE. That’s it. You’re Done!
“FANTASTIC—BUT WHY SHOULD I VOTE FOR SGA?”
ü It takes 2 minutes to do—tops.
ü It shows you expect main campus to help our law school, and that we want more
involvement and allocation of main campus resources.
ü It is important both now and later, since I will work with the incoming President to
enforce legislation that benefits our law school.
ü It is a strong way to “bridge the gap” between “us” and “them,” by showing law
students should be more incorporated into the larger inter-campus community and
general spirit of The University of Memphis.
“OTHER REASONS YOU SHOULD VOTE?”
ü Better rec center hours.
ü Free parking on main campus.
ü More events with other professional schools.
ü More opportunities to get involved with SGA on main campus.
ü More on-site health resources on-site, like the health counselor.
ü More on-site food options with our own Tiger Den at the law school.
ü Cheaper school-provided parking us law students to park downtown.
“COOL—BUT WHAT ELSE DO YOU DO AS SENATOR?”
ü Made or currently working to make these things happen.
ü Research, draft, advocate legislation to benefit our law school.
ü Perform community service and other various pro bono opportunities.
ü Attend weekly SGA Senate meetings on the main campus. EVERY week, rain or
shine, and no matter what studying I have left to do. Remember that 1L Brief that
was due Friday before Spring Break? Yep—I still made it to Senate.
